Autumn is here and as the nights draw in and summer becomes somewhat of a distant memory, I am today going to brighten up your September with some of my top hair and beauty tips to keep your look interesting this Autumn.
Your must have kit this Autumn should be made up of a reliable pair of hair irons, a whopping quarter of the female population own a pair. They will help you achieve a straight finish, or simply twisting the barrel will create that beach wave everyone was raving about this summer. They can be found in most Hair Salons, and if you purchase with them, some offer a free demo so you can learn the newest techniques.
With the wetter weather approaching, salons are offering a 4-day smoothing service, which imitates the more permanent keratin blow dry. This is fantastic if you want to try something similar without breaking your budget and can cost as little as £20. Great to have at the start of your weekend and will get you through till Monday.
If your looking to try something yourself, why not practise with sleep in rollers. They are back from the 50’s and here to stay, imitating that soft blow dry look with lots of movement; your friends will think you are a regular at the hairdressers. Practice makes perfect though and remember to blast dry your hair before placing them in.
A must, if you are going for curl and volume, keep your ends moist. There are plenty of products to choose from, but make sure your using something professional so not to coat the hair but to penetrate it. Keep those ends trimmed regularly because if they are dry and damaged that curl will just fall straight.
Ultra matt lips, with brighter colour around the eye is becoming this seasons must have look which was rocking at this years runway. Not just for the young a deep red matt lipstick will suit the over 40’s and give you a great draw dropping look or why not try a gloss wet soft pink which is bang on trend this Autumn.
Before hanging up your sandals make sure you treat your feet to that much needed pedicure, hard skin is a no-go and something we create whilst wearing our flip flops. So make sure that’s at bay before our toes are put away for winter.
Hopefully my ideas will give you something to try on those dark nights, but remember there is nothing boring about autumn, crisp colours, that sun kissed skin fading from the summer, and the all new colour ranges crying out to be tried in most hairdressers. It’s a fantastic time to give your style a make over.
